I’m a financial professional.  My career has been split between public sector and private sector employment.  Most of the private sector time I’ve been self-employed.

My wife, Valarie, and I have been married thirty-five years.  We’ve been Colorado residents since 1973.  Since 1990, we’ve lived in Boulder County, initially in Boulder, and recently in an unincorporated development in the county.  We have five children.  All attended public schools in Colorado; four of the five attended the Boulder Valley School District.  We are the proud grandparents of four.

I grew up on a farm in eastern Oklahoma.  Fortunately or unfortunately, I still have that farm-raised tendency to do things for myself, be responsible for my own life, help my family and neighbors, and to keep the government at arms length.

I believe the people of Boulder County should have modest taxes and extraordinary levels of service.  Boulder County citizens deserve someone who will listen to what’s happening, voice an appropriate independent response to fiscal recklessness, and take steps to minimize the intrusion of County government in their lives.  I’m the person to make those things happen.
